Hi, just to the left of the 8 on the rev counter there is what I can only describe as a clear spot. Looks like it might enable a lamp to flash - as it is near the red line on the rev. counter I was wondering is it a warning if you red line the revs. ?

I was doing a bit of spirited overtaking and thought I might have seen an orange flash from here - of course I was watching the road so can't be sure.

Pretty sure I wasn't in the red but I had just dropped a cog from 4th to 3rd.

Anyone know if a light does flash through this clear spot of the rev counter - if so what does it mean.

Doesn't seem to have done any harm, car is a 2002MY C4S by the way.

Thanks all

doh - just looked at the manual - should adhere the RTFM methodology I use it enough in my business - IT.

Apparently the spot I was referring to is the Light sensor for instrument illumination.

Panic over!

I saw that on my GT3 the other day and wondered the same thing.
