Was looking at a friends 997 over the weekend and was reminded how cheap the key fob feels. I am hoping to buy my brothers 997 next week and was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the key fob in any way?

Cheers.

Sorry Jamie I've mislead you I meant to say the key itself where you push the buttons to open the doors etc. It seems a bit plasticky.

I know what you mean, so I upgraded mine with one from Gert - although at 100 euros it seemed a silly thing to do but it does feel rather nice and now matches the car !!

Dealer.

*edit* Carnewal site lists only late Boxster and 996 as compatible. Maybe check 997 will work.

For 996 don't you just take the circuit borad out of your existing key and it clips in - no recoding necessary.
