Right...just booked in for a major service. Car has only done 7k miles since last June (when there was a minor service performed) but is now 4 years (and 35k miles) and therefore probably time to have my trousers dropped by the OPC. This is my first Porsche so no history of service costs.

The basic service is just over £1k (including plugs) but they also suggested changing the brake fluid....and I suspect this is just the start.

On the assumption that nothing has really been replaced since the car was new what additional items would you expect need replacing ie what is the service life of brake discs, clutch etc. Want to get an idea for when they call me during the service with a list of their suggestions. Don't want to cut corners just be prepared.

I will probably just use the OPC for all the work as they are local (JCT Leeds - shout if you know of any issues with them or have any special words for discount). Anyway what would you expect the total cost of the service to be.....a prize for the nearest (well maybe not  ). It does have an extended warranty.

Thanks

David

Be prepared for new brake discs (which seem to corrode on the inside), pads.

Aside from the service, I'd personally get other bits they point out done by a good indy, that way you can keep the OPC service history without paying their exorbitant labour charges for general non-scheduled work.

Do yourself and call ZENTRUM Porsche specialist in Nottingham.. At least they can give an honest opinion on what's in full service and fixed price for disc & pads which will probably be on the list.. Their costs are about 60% of OPC.

Yes, the OPC way appears to be that we all need discs and pads every time we visit. As advised get the service done and then anything else done at a reputable indy
