Hello,

What does "PPI inspection" stand for and how much is it to get done? I am reading alot that it is a MUST for people like me who do not know an swful lot about 964's and are in DUblin... but planning to buy one from the UK!

Thanks

Adrian

Pre Purchase Inspection.

Find someone who knows about 911s, such as Peter Morgan, as the cars are a fair bit different from the normal road cars in terms of mechanical lay out and common problems, PPI such as the AA or the RAC ones are waste of time and money. Some good indepedants are good but I found that they tend to give the car a general check over to highlight any potential or existing problems, and don't give much of an official written reports as such.

They're about £200 or so. Worth doing when you've found the right one. You can either pay the inspector to go and see the car, or pay the seller the travell cost to take it to the inspector, on top of the fee.

I am looking at motors in Manchester, London and Northern Ireland... so are there pretty much PPI people all around the UK or are they location specific?

Thanks so much

As Sundeep said get a local specialist garage to inspect the car. If you find a car that you definitely want to purchase arrange with the owner to take it to the garage to have it inspected (better here because the car can be put on a ramp). If you find a car in Manchester I would recommend Jason at JMH to look it over.

Dose 9M do PPI? If so they'll be a good one to go for.
