How do you get 22.9 mpg ? I can't get more than 17 mpg, round town doesn't help I guess!

I am with William on this, 24 MPG is what I get. I did a long road trip the other day and got 30.1MPG - I did take my time - just cruised at about 70 - 80 MPH all the way ( 200miles) no traffic, no idiots and hardly any toll booths to slow me down. The car sounded completely different when I got to my destintation, the exhaust note was way more sexier!

The mileage in both the 996 and 997 is great as far as I am concerned.

I was trying very hard.... Honest!

So was Fraser on the M61 "I don't believe the car is capable of that speed officer, surely it's restricted to 155mph!" lol

26mpg is the best ive had on a longish run.I dont do much driving in rush hour heavy traffic anymore but I would imagine that consumption would be in the teens if I did.I use shell v-power-dont know if this affects mpg?

anyone else want to have a guess at how many miles I managed and the mpg?

Average speed was 51mph and yes I did quite a bit of non motorway driving, about 60 miles in the lakes

You were lucky not to flood the engine :D
