Hi, need advice please .... i own a 911 996 (1998) with standard 17" alloys and would like to put 18" turbos on with appropriate tyres to match - would like to know the advantages of upgrading to larger alloys/tyres and is it worth it ?

Thanks,

Mart.

The ride will be a bit firmer, but you should get more grip with the wider tyres.

You won't be able to put Turbo wheels directly onto your car, as they have a different offset...

You can get Turbo 'look' wheels with the correct offset...

and it does help resale as 18's are a desirable option.... but no bigger

The set i'm looking at have come off a 1999 model 996 so i should be ok - they are 18" - rim 8J (front) and 10J (rear).

Cheers

Ah,

They'll be the 993 Turbo twist look ones then....

Nice, they'll suit the car well..

8J fronts are a better width than the 7.5Js often found...
