80 to 120 mph in 3 seconds

Hi All,

Can anyone help? The speedo of my 1990 964 works normally up to about 80 mph after which the needle is very erratic, indicating the correct speed then 110 or 120 mph for a few seconds, then back to normal.

A minute later, its doing it again.

Any ideas as to what is causing this & a remedy? Thanks for any help.

sounds like moisture playing havoc with the electronics!
