Porsche have announced details of the 997 Targa 4 and 4S versions.

The 4 is driven along by a 325 bhp 3.6L flat six, making for a 0-60 mph time of 5.3 seconds. Next up is the 4S, with a 355 bhp endowed 3.8L unit, equating to a 4.9 second sprint to 60 mph. The power kit option takes things upto 388 bhp.

Transmission comes courtesy of either a six speed manual or five-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission (the Tiptronic ensuring a faster 0-60 mph time). A Visco multi-plate clutch ensures that between 5% and 40% of the cars power is taken to the front wheels at all times, constantly varying to achieve optimum grip.

The Targa is easily distinguished by its large glass roof panel and aluminium trim strips running the length of the roof frame. The top can be opened upto 0.5 metres wide in just seven seconds.

Any one in the North West fancy putting their pre '89 Targa on show at either Wilmslow or Bolton OPC weekend of 4th/5th November.

Looking for original RHD Tagas, the earlier the better.

Oooh, just re-read the letter and they will accept supersport Targas but not turbos....

Hmmmm might have a cunning plan to get a 997 C4S for the weekend....
