The lights on my 964 are pretty dim (on a par with any other 13 year old car). Rather limits the speed in the dark given that I can't see very far. Is there a fix/way of getting brighter lights?

Cheers

I'm sure there are a number of after market HID conversion that'll improve the brightness no ends!

The problem you'll have with fitting a HID kit to a 964 is the diffraction pattern on the lens may well dazzle oncoming drivers - HID light is alot more intense than conventional halogen.

You're be better off fitting a high output headlamp loom capable of running the full voltage and current to higher output bulbs. Will make a huge difference.

you can try brighter bulbs, I installed Osram Silver Star's from these guys

That and a thorough clean on th einside of the lenses made a difference.
