Discs and pads

I need to replace the front discs and pads on my 02 996 Targa. Unlike Howard (See thread 996 Brakes) I have found the standard ones perfectly adequate. The pads though have not lasted well (8000 miles).

Should I stick with the standard set up or have a look at something else?

Opinions please :)

Unless you track the car a lot and willing to put up with squeaks and squeals then I'd stick to standard pads.

ditto

unless you need the braking power for defined activites then the downside isn't worth while....

and changing pads DIY isn't that hard (of sorts) !

Some people just do not know when to stop

I think you need to get down to London on the 22nd July and buy me a beer by way of an apology.

All Bar One at Cambridge Circus on the corner of Charing Cross Road and Shaftesbury Avenue. A few of us have met there before. Anytime from 2pm onwards. Will post something in the Meets and Trackdays forum.
