My vanity mirrors that is

Both my vanity mirror 'lids' have lost their springiness - just sort of flop around. I've not had this with either f my previous 996s but to have two gone... is it a common problem and does anyone have a DIY fix?

actually, just realised my drivers one has gone floppy. the vanity light switches itself off sometimes. not a big deal.

i guess the easiest way would be to buy two new ones. can't think of anything that would make something regain the spring in its life.

u could try viagra :D

Interesting, as this was about the only "problem" found on my 996 when I had a pre purchase Porsche inspection done. That and a dodgy ashtray action :)

I believe these had to be replaced to solve the issue.

have a look at the springy mechanism (metal strip) - prise off the light cover bit - just clicks back on and you'll see the inards of the vanity light

Bring it on Alex. You're obviously on good form today. You're not an afternoon drinker by any chance?
