996 Axle Whine

one week further on and they have not located the broken bearing! This sounds terrible - I will let you all know when I hear anything else

I have just spoken with them and the car is on its way to repair. I am however shocked by the price!!



16 hours at £65 is good.

spare parts at £1,100 is a bit over the top! apparently the problem is the bearings in the pinion have gone and a synchro has also gone and needs to be replaced. Surely this is a lot for the parts? Any help would be appreciated as the total bill is coming to £2,500!
