Hi guys!
First post here! Looking for some advise from the people in the know. I would be sincerely grateful!! - First 911!
Here's my woe:-
I aquired an 1987 911 3.2 Carrera ( genuine 57,ooo miles full PSH) from my brother. It has been lying out of motion for about a year. It would not start and he has been working away a lot, so he was recomended to a so called "german sprecialist in Aberdenn, who kept the car for 5-6 weeks and gave it back to him running with a bill of £800. It was the flywheel sensor apparently! 5-6 weeks to find that out???!!!***** eh!
Since coming back from them, It has developed a leak in the Oil Coller Pipe in font of the driver side rear wheel, the Clutch is now slipping, and when depressing the Clutch Pedal to the floor, I'm getting a loud "grinding" noise.
I've put the car into a friend of mine who also works on mu Audi ur-quattro, and whilst he's no 911 expert, he's a very decent solid Mechanic. He reckons that the pressure plate is hitting something as that's where the noise is coming from.
Can someone please confirm that:-
1. This is an Engine & Gearbox out?
2. How long should this take?
3. How much/where's the best place to obtain parts (Porsche quality just not prices)
4. Are there any do's and don't specific to this operation?
Many thanks in advance for any responses!
