Rob Mugglestone, from "Total 911" fitted CC to his 964. Not an OE one, but seems to work fine.

996 very different though. A good mate of mine investigated retrofitting cruise on a 996 he was looking to buy. While it can be done it's ultra expensive due to all the parts required. All specialists and OPC suggested buying a car already with it or living without it!

so duct tape and and a stick doesn't count ?

although from memory it isn't impossible, asssuming it is the same basic tiptronic gearbox an in the Audi range, etc

didn't think it was that expensive... parts are a few hundred and fitting isn't that complicated (?) so less than £4-500 all in is ok
