Hi

Reading through the various frums here I have come accross the "RMS issue" a number of times in relation to the 996. Can someone tell me what the RMS issue is?

Thanks

I'm getting a 996 inspected this morning. Chances are I'm probably just about to find out!

RMS = rear main seal where the engine adjoins the transmission. They're prone to leak on some cars (996s, 997s and Boxsters) - no telling which - and it's a c£500 fix. But if a car has gone ?20-30K miles with no problems, then the risk seems minimal.

IMHO.
