993 Spongy brakes

Recently the brake pedal on my '96 c2 has been feeling a little more like an escort and less like a 911. This was very noticeable after driving my brother's car (96 c2 as well), which felt perfect. He had a similar problem that was rectified by the replacement of what we believe was the Hydraulic ABS control cylinder (at great expense).

Just wondered whether this was a common problem or if anyone knows of any other possible causes.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm. Sounds serious. I'd get it checked. Has your brake fluid been replaced as per service schedule?

another view.....

if I drive any other 'modern car' car the brakes on my 993 feel spongy and soft afterwards... or rather other new cars feel to hard !

at which point I realise it is the same type of car ... doh !
