Headlight not working....help!

I changed the headlamp bulbs in my 993 for the Osram Silverstars yesterday. Since then, the nearside headlight does not work, on neither full nor dipped beam.

I have checked fuses and bulbs (only changed dipped bulbs), all OK, and have tried re-installing the headlight pod a number of times. But no joy.

Any ideas folks?

Had a similar problem on mine. If you look at the small clip which holds the bulb in place, is it pushing the bulb firmly against the metal bulb holder? Mine wasn't since the metal on the holder which the clips sits in (you still with me!) had started split, therefore the tension in the clip was no longer there.

After adding some additional bends in the clip, I was able to ensure that the bulb was firmly held in place.

The reason your not getting dipped or full beams is that the negative connects to bulb through the metal holder and serves both lamp functions.

Again, 911uk yields the answer and saves man trip to specialist; checked and rechecked, and tweaked and refitted bulb clip wire bit thingy. Light now works!

the power of a mere clip, tested it out today.. and yes it works or rather doesn't work, which means it works ! or something like that !
