You are all probably bored to tears with proud owners telling you about their 993 Targa. Well, sadly here's another one.

I bought a 1996 Oceon Blue Targa early in October after a thirty year wait for a Porsche. It is beyond all expectations. I have covered 2000 miles in it to date and I can't get enough of it. Third gear is superb - a perfect overtaking gear.

Because of my lack of knowledge on this car, is it normal for there to be excessive wind noise from the roof area above about 80? Also, above about 120 (on a track obviously!) There is a pronounced whistle again from what apperars to be the roof area. The roof was 'adjusted' by a non OPC specialist just before I bought the car, so I assume this is good. I know this has been bought up before.

From my reading various articles on this model, a strut brace seems to be a useful addition. Any recommendations?

My missus is getting p**ssed off because I spend all my time with the car. Is there a market for Used Porsche widows?

Stewart, I'm not sure whether it's a case of "They all do that, sir" but the wind noise issue certainly sounds much the same as my own Targa. I wouldn't worry unduly about it - I think it's just the price of having the lovely glass roof.

Gotta part number?
an easy spot for any OPC parts desk but it's the front seal...

which I think is 993 562 531 00

it's actually quite cheap and the only seal that is.......

Stevo,

my missus said she wants nothing to do with another Porsche nut.

All,

I can try a front seal, it appears to be an easy part to change.
