There was a recall for a large number of pre 96 993's for an engine compartment wiring loom replacement. So if you are looking at a pre varioram, check its been done. Not from a financial point of view as it was a free replacement (my OPC verified that the recall was still outstanding from the VIN number), but from a safety point of view. The recall was because the wiring casing was too thin and prone to catching fire. Having that go off in your engine bay is a recipe for a sense of humour failure for most folks and bloomin dangerous to boot. Mine had been imported in from germany by a previous owner and its those 'nomadic examples' that will be most vulnerable to missing the recall.Previous poster said:Quote: Originally posted by LOJO on 03 June 2004
Sundeep, I was told that the reason to get a Varioram isn't for the varioram, it is for the assurance that you have the latest wiring rig and som other upgrades that are more important than the few horses extra. (comments anyone?)
