faulty alarm on 911

just tried to start my 1988 3.2 cab and wouldnt start after some inspection, i found that the alarm was not feeding live to fuel pump, after bypassing it with permenent live it started, but when i blip throttel it seams to be flat ,is this because theres no relay connected to the fuel pump? or is it something else? your help is much needed
