Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the druck oil presure should read on my 1981 911sc at start up and when at operating temp, and what is the normal oil usage.

Also my oil gauge flickers up and down is this the norm.

Thanks Mark

I think there is a rough rule for oil pressure when warm:

Your oil pressure #'s should
about match the tach #'s e.g. at 5000rpm ~ = 5 bar on the gauge

Not sure about when cold - I am not sure measuring oil pressure when cold makes much sense anyway.

Oil usage - in American terms (off a US site) -400 miles /quart . Not sure what this is in British terms!

I don't think flickering is right - sounds like dirty electrical contacts.

Cheers, James
