Gavs 996.1 C2 Aero

Love a good Aerokit :thumb:

Rear wiper delete if it were mine though.

Can vouch for the D911 GT3 Reps, they're awesome, unlike the people selling them. I had no ends of troubles with them, was agonising. Even got to the point I was told the factory in China burnt down and it would be a year until they had them in stock again if at all. So tread carefully, mine came poorly finished, I had to take them to a specialist to tidy them up.

That sounds like a good reason for a set of recaros

Nice one Gav, that's a lovely looking car. :thumb:

I'm glad my thread can be of some guidance (oh and yep the car is now Adams on here). I look forward to seeing your car evolve. 8)

Lovely car Gav - looking good - congrats :thumb:

Been a while since I updated this so standby for a long post!

Haven't driven the car that much since I got it really as I work in the Middle East and ended up stuck out here with the whole corona virus thing. Good for the bank balance, not so good for getting out for a drive!

Anyways, enjoyed a couple of blasts before I got stuck into the jobs I wanted to tackle

So first things to be done were the RSS engine mounts and intake mod with resonator delete. Had read about the mods on here and thought I'd give them a go. Maybe a slight difference in the way the car puts power down, very subtle though. And a bit more induction noise which is always good.

Changed the number plate for one of my own to go with the other cars and bikes

Stuck in a 997.2 GT3 shifter, again after reading about them on here. Feels great!

Rear wiper delete to tidy up the back end

Centre console delete to tidy things up inside

Then the standard seats were awful and not supportive at all, so was in 2 minds whether or not to order these GT3 reps after reading they were a bit snug, even for skinny people. Well I'm far from skinny and find them great, so glad I ordered them! Got them from Porscheshop in the end. Also got the belts done in red, brightens the cabin up a bit.

Then another blast out to test them out

Found the back issue of Total911 which featured my car(previous owners reg on it back then)

And then last time I was home managed to fit the below. The small steering wheel I grew to like the size of it, but I found it a bit chunky and also when pressing on, changing gear and gripping the wheel with my right hand managed to press the horn a few times due to where the buttons were positioned. So the Momo went on. Whilst in there the standard head unit was updated with a Continental.

And chucked on some H&R antiroll bars, one because I wanted them and two because I get a knock from the left front when turning. Knock is still there, but I like the new anti roll bars. New drop links all round also, front were the worst I've ever dealt with and did not want to come out lol. Angle grinder to the ball joint at top and impact gun shifted them in the end!
A lot of the underbody stuff will come off over winter to be replaced ot refreshed, though it's not too bad.

Had a look at the 4 year old designtek exhaust when it was on the ramps as it sounded like it had a blow. Definitely does so I'm in the process of ordering a Top Gear one. Missed out on the group buy but not to worry.

State of that already!

That's about it for now, looking at Ohlins coilovers next but will have to see how work goes post corona virus. Also decided to sell the C63 when I get home as I genuinely enjoy driving the Porsche more. Not as fast and doesn't sound as gold, but it's just great fun. Also have a long term plan for that GT3 that I mentioned in the first post!

A few nice touches there gav. Any chance I could get my hands on that x pipe?
I want to make one for my own yoke. Or I may possibly end up making a centre exit. Really unsure as yet

Cheers mate. And yes certainly. I'd planned to get it welded up then stick it on ebay so you can measure it up before I do that.

First week of August I'm home so I'll let you know when it's off the car :thumb:

Sounds good. I might even just buy it off ya. I'll see how I go. I'm in 2 minds what to do with the rear end. If I go for a duck tail then I think the centre exit is the way to go. Sure I'll change my mind 10 times before I get that far😂

Really like the look of the centre console delete . . . What was needed for this ?

Thanks

Not sure if these are correct or not as just copied first google search that came up but you need:

986-552-113-02-A10 Carpeted Panel
986-552-241-02-A03 Plastic Cover

Make sure you get correct colour carpet though. Easiest to go into Porsche and get through them, and probably cheapest also.

Those codes are correct for black. Comes to something like £130+VAT with a bit of discount from an OPC
