Best and worst looking Porsche 911 generations?

I love all 911s, they're all fab! :drink:

I may have had wine.

I thought all 911s looked the same? :dont know:

best looking

From the rear I think the 993 wins by a country mile! From the front I am not so sure but I do know a turbo bumper or rs splitters fill it out a bit and help enormously. The bulging bottom swollen lip on the front of a 964 is not good but the rest is perfect. I followed an early 911 around the Edinburgh by pass a couple of months ago and I thought Bloody Hell that looks old. Different days, different thoughts :dont know:

Bearing in mind I am dodging entry to the nursing home and sorry I have no real Porsche interests other than 911 derivatives, I think the Singer has captured the essence of everything that was the original concept and added a degree of modern expectations to bring it bang up to date in terms of not only a reasonably raw 911 experience when desired but subtle enough to turn up in the politest of company..?

I wandered among a goodly collection of Porsche from all generations 356 up to GT3`s etc, at last years Porsche in the Glen event and enjoyed taking pics of so many of the attendees wonderful Porsches. I think the 993 is the most advanced air cooled Porsche for obvious reasons, BUT, it is lacking in terms of not seeing the tops of the wings from the driving position, which for me is VERY much part of my expectations when driving the ICONIC 911, though the clean non-fussy lines of the 993 make it potentially the best overall air cooled Porsche to look at from the outside.

Sorry 996 do not do it for me whereas the 997, especially in the GT packages have a great look about them though with all water cooled they have gained weight and size which takes me outside my comfort zone for a nimble sports car... superb GT`s for continent bashing, but in tight twisting country roads...too much of a compromise perhaps..hmm.?

Some pics from Porsche in the Glen.

Clearly it's the Martini liveried Scalextric 930 model from the late 70's.

Boom!

I am guessing that the car you own/owned comes out top of your list?

That'll be the dinky (as in small not the model!) 993 then :D

Second will be the 964

All the modern ones are too big, bloated and blingy for this poster

If I buy another Porsche it will be a Cayman
