Afternoon all
I'm looking to get my car health checked. I'd like to see what upgrades i can do to get some more oomph.
I'm in Newport and I don't know a good Indy that'll be able to tell what's been done prior to my ownership and what's the best way forward.
Anyone know a good one close ish to me?
Cheers
Rik

Cameron.....bristol/bath, not too far from newport

Thanks for that, I work in Bristol so that'd be easy. Have you used them ?

I have.
Nothing but good words to say about them. They are busy so give yourself a bit of time to book the work in.
A professional outfit, great facilities and fair pricing.

Chris Denning in Cardiff is the go to South Wales specialist. He's ex OPC and very highly regarded but is probably more about thorough cost-effective servicing and repair than assessing, planning and doing upgrades. He occasionally posts on here and may correct me though!

Forza in Caldicot are good (not quite so cost effective) but use their initiative to chase and solve problems. Plenty of experience on Porsches as well as BMW, Maserati, TVR, Lamborghini... I've used them for years.

As an example I used Chris for a major service on my 996 plus one or two preventive replacements. I went to Forza to have the exhaust removed, welded and refitted.

I'm in Chepstow, work in Newport.

Barry Ellis-Jones runs The Ramp Room a Porsche Indy in Cwmbran, Barry drives a 996 himself (and contributes lots of helpful advice etc on the 996 Carrera owners FB page) and is highly recommended by people that have used his services.

Another vote for Chris Denning. No frills workshop, and your suspension will hate the entrance drive to his place, but he certainly seems to know his stuff. Get him talking about new cars and your eyes will water. He is scathing about the build quality of new pork.

Another vote for Barry - knows these cars inside out and passionate about the cars and service. Did an incredibly thorough inspection on mine giving me peace of mind to drive back to Scotland - he would get all the work on mine if it wasn't so far to travel!!
