New to 991.1 - start stop - good or bad for engine?

small update...... pull both paddles to put you into neutral.....Seeing as the PDK stick makes this function a little awkward in manual mode, the double paddle pull is a nice feature. :)

The starter motors have been engineered for the stop start purpose. I think they work in a different way to traditional ones.

Batteries too are a different spec for stop start, and I've noticed that oil now is specced for stop start.

My M-B has done 120k miles with stop start active, no problems to date as a result.

It makes minimal difference to mpg, but it does at least feel better to know the car isn't unnecessarily pumping out air pollution in traffic.
