992 Sound System Issues

We have the Burmester on our new 911 and couldn't be more disappointed in the vibration and rattles coming from the windows and door cards. Using factory default settings and the car can't cope with the power output from the Burmester sound system. Has anybody else got this issue? Dealer is currently drawing a blank...although thankfully acknowledging it isn't right.

Burmeister Sound

Hello,

I have a 992s Cab with Bose sound and i've had to reduce the base to minus levels as the speaker/ door vibration is not good. I'm new to the 911 forum as of yesterday and don't have much time to post but i have put up the niggles i've experienced with it in my my first month of ownership.

- M button light works intermittently
- Wind deflector needs pressing a couple of times to engage
- Spoiler wouldn't go down when ignition off and wiper blades mid screen
- Back windows would not close when cab roof closed, now working after reset
- Tracker pairing didn't work, i didn't twig it until i left key fob at home and no dash notification or phone call. I rang Porsche Connect and they could see that the car security package was not activated, this was 3 weeks after i paid for it and it was paired by the dealer. Porsche should've communicated with me but by not doing so , my car was an easy target for a car thief. The Porsche Connect service now run by Porsche and experience not good.
- Most irritating is the slight rattle from driver side window

I've had 3 other Porsche and never had an issue, this experience so far has not been good and i will be writing to Porsche GB MD and to Germany, they are a top marque and have to do better.

On the positive side, i love the car looks, crayon, black lid, black wheels and the car drives really well.

Oh no - really sorry to hear that. Having heard it in a 718 Cayman (or boxster, actually cant remember which) and a Panamera whilst deliberating on my 992 build, I've spec'd it in mine as it sounded incredible.

I thought/hoped the solidity and acoustics of the 992 would lend themselves to the Burmester.

Anyone else having any issues?

OP - hope you get it sorted - and FYI, if you search on YouTube, there is an aftermarket car stereo specialist company who have posted a short vid on a 992 they have recently worked on. They were upgrading the Bose rather than Burmester, but I recall them saying the interior trim was mostly to blame and needed reclipping in multiple places.

Good luck...

The fit and finish of the Interior Trim.

The mass produced nature of the Bose has always been an area of potential weakness.

For the Burmester problem you are having, it might be better to use an Audio (ICE) specialist who can resolve this issue with some better sound insulation materials in the door cards.
