Samco developed a kit that allows blanking off the resonator valve so it's effectively always closed and a replacement quality silicone inlet hose with clips. Simply remove your old Y inlet hose fit the blanking piece and fit the replacement silicone hose. I coupled this with a BMC sports long life air filter, for improved engine breathing. These can easily be fitted as a simple DIY job and retains the standard air-box.
You get the induction noise further down the rev range. I'm not suggesting any performance advantage it's just a nicer sound. Both items were only fitted for less than 2,000 miles and I have since sold the car. Parts are both in excellent condition.
