HELP: car gone bang

Fingers crossed it hasn't completely grendaded.
 
any updates, I hope the OP hasn't had a big bill and it was something minor and is too busy enjoying the car to update us
 
Maybe he just drove over a manhole cover? :?:
 
I'm guessing that there are two possible reasons why we haven't had an update -

1. It was indeed IMS failure and now the OP is faced with a huge bill
2. It was something simple and the OP is driving his Porsche
