992 Ceramic Treatment

Never had a car ceramic coated before... its pretty damn good now have had a month or so and couple of thousand miles... it washes so easily and is like its just been waxed every time, water seriously runs off... and no fly guts sticking on the front, or any brake dust clinging to the wheels or brakes callipers.
Looks really good.
Given how many miles you do, I guess you think it's worthwhile? I was always a little reticence given the daily use of mine, although at much lower miles than you!
I think this might be my latest way of spending money on cars. From reading people's threads on car care it seems to become all encompassing!

The biggest advantage of ceramic coating is the fact the weekly maintenance wash time is sped up. - meaning much less ear-bashing from the other half. :grin:

Yeah, bless him... think Tony wanted to prove he'd done it...
Needless to say you can tell! Washed my inside of alloys for the first time in 2,000 miles today... all the brake dust and grime effortlessly washed away. I used to use an alloy wheel wax, and this is on a different level.
As you say, effortless and looks like new every time a quick wash.
I'm intrigued by its stone chip protection. Not a single mark on the bumper or bonnet in 2,000 miles. In theory its supposed to provide an enhanced chip protection to that of the paint and lacquer, so far so good, I'll keep my eye on it for the first 10,000 miles.

Has anybody tried Ultra Seal?
There's a car detail company here in Portugal https://www.cardetail.pt that advises us to use a wrap called Expel Ultimate followed by that Ultra Seal ceramic finish. Has anybody used it?

Expel Ultimate has been around for a while, I've not used it but it's supposed to be self-repairing, I always said that when I get my 911 I'll use it. Not sure if it's still the top-of-the-range product it was, or whether it's now been surpassed, though.Blacknavigator said:

Three thousand miles later... wish i had ceramic coated my last 911, as its amazing stuff, sooooooooo easy to keep clean, it practically self cleaning and when you do wash it, the beading quality is addictive. And nil elbow grease needed for waxing and all that...

That's a pretty stunning job - no question - but I hadn't even thought of ceramic coating the wheels!!!
I think the genuine pads on my 991 are fairly soft and leave a red/brown/grey brake dust on the wheels. More so after "enthusiastic" use ... :x I think I have been inspired!
I'll get my detailer right on it. :floor:
