Hi all.

First post on here.
I have owned a 996 C2 for a few months now and cannot work out what the PS button is for. There is a PSM button too, which is referenced in the manual.

I assume the PS button is an after market addition?

Thanks in advance.
Andrew

Hello and welcome!

Not heard of a PS button... can you post a pic or describe where it is?

Is it in the same panel as the PSM switch?

PSE is Porsche Sport Exhaust, but there is a pic on it of an exhaust tip.

Thanks for responding Robert.

Pic attached...

That is not an OE button... it looks like a PSM button with the M removed, linked to something else. If I was to guess, probably to control a retrofitted switchable exhaust. If you look above the silencers behind the rear bumper you might be able to see the 'top hat' valves in the pipes.

If not, goodness knows... garage door opener, ejector seat... you will need to chase the wires from the switch to see where it ends up.

Do you have contact details of the previous owners, to ask them?
