I think I know the answer but just for my sanity. I'm in. 996 C4S so didn't pay much attention to Cayman info but the old man's just on the bubble for a Cayman S so looking for some confirmation..
I think the 3.4 S engine is a derivative of the 911 unit - and if so presumably suffers with bore score and IMS in the same way (although the internet doesn't seem to have created that death cult around it like the 911's have...?). Is that right? And if so I guess a 987 S would have one or other of the single row bearings.. was there a more year change over point?
Anything else Cayman specific to watch out for?
