Which oil? Engine and box

As per title. Car parts for less have a good discount on this weekend with the bank holiday and I want to stock up on a few bits.

Which engine oil is the norm? I dont mind paying for good stuff.

Also, which gearbox oil? Box is coming out so it'll needs fill with new stuff.

Also how much of both do I need?
 
Engine .. i would go with mobil 1 5w/40

Gearbox .. manual or tip ?

manual then 75/90 .. i don't feel the make really matters but i'm sure someone can clarify that .

Tip and there are 2 types so it depends on which box you have .
 
I was keen on millers in the last car but wasn't sure this time.
