A/C Compressor Options

Although my a/c is still working, the compressor appears to be leaking based on the yellow stains on the metal casing.

I also have the dreaded leak from r/h rear connector pipe work located on the under tray.

Rather than wait for it to fail completely, I am minded to get it all done sooner rather than later.

Can't do anything about the pipe work - it may be the o-ring that has failed or it may escalate to pipe work needing replacement - but I was minded to source the compressor.

What are thoughts on the best make to go for, as there are a range of manufacturers and price points? Denso appears to be the OEM which can be found on the Bay for c£350, but there are also Nissens, Behr Hella and Lucas at various points up and down. Is there likely to be any real difference (bar the hit to the wallet)?

Not inclined to go second hand route as I don't fancy swapping one problem for another.

Thoughts/recommendations welcome!

I bought a compressor and drier for £178 all in from 'Autoaircon parts' in Birmingham. Not sure what make it is but it's run fine for a couple of years.

Fitting it was another matter, that back bolt is difficult to access!!!
