pls send me to a previous thread if easier as I am sure this has been done to death

however, I am a newby to this thread having owned 997's before - and been active on that thread - and I am now looking to go classic

looking at a 1982 sc - light blue with the fuchs - coupe with sunroof

its just had an engine rebuild and has done 90k - looks genuine with the service history

I will get the car checked probably but could some of you give me some pointers from your wealth of experience as to the spec it should have and things to check on a first inspection

its on ebay and says owned by a collector

many many thanks indeed

Rust rust and more rust, checkround the door latches/kidney bowls and sills ask if these have been replaced at any time, corners of the windscreen check for any signs of rust on the inner wings when you open the bonnet, engines are pretty bullet proof, 915 gearbox can be an adventure finding gears however make sure its changing gear without any crunching re-build is big bucks.

An inspection from some knowledgeable is a must

Looks like all the mechanicals have been done especially the gearbox.

Why another engine build required at that mileage?

Rust/corrosion is the main issue on these especially around the kidney bowls so bodywork needs a good look over.

I've sent you a PM

appreciate the comments guys

what extras would I want to see on an 82 car - if any
