Handbrake refurbishment

Folks,

I posted this on the 997 thread as well, but for those of you with a 2001+ MY boxer (987, I think?):

My handbrake cover could do with replacing but all the refurb places want me to take the unit out and send to them.

Is it not possible to swap it over yourself, and if so does anyone know where to find the cover on its own?

Clearly taking the handbrake out for a week means the car should be off the road for that time and it would be difficult, really. Its my daily driver.

Many thanks,

Richard
