OPC 992 Preview nights

I got a bit of a surprise when the salesman told me the performance figures for the S and the 4S. The torque of the Gen 2 Turbo is a lot higher and especially in Sport. Whether or not they have the same mid range remains to be seen when I hopefully get one for a test drive.
Not just that but the handling is supposed to be improved greatly, especially if you go for RWS which I know a lot of people won't bother with unless they're tracking them.
I do prefer the shape over the 991 and I'm looking forward to seeing the Turbo in the flesh, should be a world class supercar.

Just spec'd up a std Carrera S to what most of us would like/want and it comes out at £112,073. Plus a 4S is only £5300 more.

Agreed on the shape, they seemed to have achieved the impossible! Would never be tempted, the 991.1 wins the sound battle hands down, that's the only reason I binned the 997.2. Seems the only gripe on the reviews is the sound. Otherwise looks a 5 star car.
But if I was  3 years down the line there will be some well priced examples where someone else took the depreciation hit :thumb:

Interesting to see that both cars in the pictures have the standard exhaust. Wouldn't have thought many ordered without sports exhaust. :?:
And how happy is the dude in the silver car

Daft thing was I was more excited about about seeing a mint 996 than anything, that car didnt have a stone chip on it. I liked the non standard wheels too. My wife keeps wanting me to get a newer one, but I would never sell mine. Too much emotion in it.

i got my 991.1 C4S from Wilmslow (not new) and heard sweet FA from them, so got myself invited to OPC Hatfield. I arrived just as the whole area ground to a halt because of the amount of people trying to get into their carpark! Had to go to overflow across the road. I parked and about another 10 Porches came in behind me. As it was underground everyone had their exhaust valves opened. My Wife quipped do all Porsche drivers do that also   . Anyway the car park was better than the reveal (which is indeed whipping a sheet off the new cars (x3 992's). There were all sorts of 911s old, new, TURBO TURBOS, GTs. Personally I still need to warm to the front design and the inside still :?:

Hmm I thought the inside was the best. They've finally simplified it AKA 993. Be interested to hear another, as the one the other day was sowing machine quiet. :nooo:

Its storage for an umbrella, always used to be a feature on 997's

Pmsl... I assume that's an April fool.
