I received mine today, Im pretty sure that the minimal plugs/cabling that came with is not going to be compatible with what's already there but I may be pleasantly surprised. I'll report back when I get a chance to fit it Thumb

Have a look at this. I think it covers differing scenarios depending on whats there already.

Sorry, just realised my text refers to the 993 and you are asking about the 996.

I think the hi-fi system from the 993 was carried over pretty much unchanged to the 996.

Not sure that model has DAB?

What's the sound quality like compared with the original Becker Creationblue?

Thinking of doing the same as my Traffic pro LCD display has given up.

Cheers

DAB has the most terrible bitrate - sound quality is truly appalling - lots of it is broadcast in mono for goodness sake.

Yea no dab on this but it has BT and handsfree, the on/off button started to play up on the Becker so swapped it out. To early to tell if its better but seems clearer already

Hi CreationBlue, funny to see a familiar name from the VW forums Wink

Is it possible to adjust the brightness on the Continental screen, or is the colour and brightness fixed?

I cant see that the display is dimmable however the camera has enhanced the brightness and in realilty its not as bright as it looks

I bought a new toy Wink

Still got the early bay, that's a keeper; my 5 year old boy made me promise him we would never sell it, not that we would anyway!

I picked up a '99 C4 the beginning of last summer and quickly added a few thousand miles to the clock cruising around in the sunshine. So far so good, I'm enjoying using it as a daily.
