The Porsche Turbo (996) Tiptronic box is actually a Mercedes 722.653 box (590 ft/lbs 800 nm holding capacity).
In fact I'm pretty sure all the Tip boxes are actually Merc 722 box variations.
It's also the same box used in the McLaren SLR only with different clutch packs . All of which a retrofittable to our Tiptronics if you want to run big power.
I decided on a Holibox for mine for competition but during my research travels I had a look into the capabilities of the 722.
You can do loads with the 722 and the Mercedes forums are leaps and bounds ahead with this box compared to the Porsche enthusiasts;
Add another clutch pack in between gear 3-4, rebuild with uprated clutch packs , Rev match on downshift, Shift much faster. There is DIY's for all of these if you can find them.
Here let me throw you some bones.
