Hi All,

Any recommendations for alloy wheel refurbishment services that aren't too expensive in the Bournemouth area?
I'm after a full refurb rather than just the mobiles paintingbthe fronts.

Cheers,

Chris is mobile, he comes to you with a loan set of wheels and tyres, fits them, then takes yours away to refurb them. Then brings them back to you and again fits them
He has done both sets on my Porschas, fantastic quality job

^^Great thanks for the recommendations :thumb:

Chris from Excel is good and highly recommended on here , but I always use The Wheel Specialist on Ferndown Ind Est mate , have done for years with both the gen1 and 2 and regularly need Them as they get curbed infact need to get the other car done and was going to see them next week. wheel specialists are a franchise so some are better than other but Ferndown has always done a good job for me. :thumb: :thumb:

Thanks Phil, good to hear from a local perspective. I'll get some prices and timescales :thumb:

The Wheel Specialists (TWS) are very good as is the Porsche-approved bodyshop who will give a first class job and a courtesy car for the period your car is with them for the job. And the job has a no-quibble warranty and QC checked by the Porsche-approved bodyshop. Cant really argue with that. If you're not happy, you can reject the job until you are happy.

TWS do the refurb themselves on their own premises.

Prices at Porsche-approved and TWS very reasonable at £100 per wheel including VAT for 18 inch wheels. Around £110 for 19" wheels and virtually no wait-list.

Last I used Exel Wherls they used to send the wheels to Lepsons in Kent.

Exel take the wheels, they don't send them. They also oversee the process until they are happy with the results, collect them and deliver them back to the customer.

I've used Lepsons directly and through Exel. Lepsons are excellent but the Quality Control that Exel provide is well worth the extra and for those that need it the loan wheel service is invaluable.

I have seen this weekend a set of BMW wheels done by The Wheel Specialist and they were shocking.
The boss is coming down to see them as my mates garage is refusing to pay for them.
I had my 996 wheels done by Chris and they are excellent.

Paul as I said mate they are all franchises so some will be far better than others, but FERNDOWN has always done a great job for me. :thumb:

Thanks all, decided to go with Dentz a local independent in Christchurch. I'm having the calipers done too. I'll let you know how it goes :thumb:

TWS Manchester and Chester are superb. Manchester did a refurb on a 19" Italian Trofeo wheel for me via my indy when it was in for service in Aug 2018. The wheel is Grigio Mercury and it is absolutely superb - matches the Grigio of the centre cap that wasnt even sent to them by my indy! Perfect match having just the one wheel refurbed without TWS Manchester having sight of the other three wheels. TWS Chester did all 4 wheels as prep for the dealer I bought the car from. Very good. Grigio Mercury is not an easy colour to get right.

OPC Chester outsource to TWS Chester for Porsche refurb (but not for smart repairs) AND OPC Chester provide a courtesy car and a superb no-quibble warranty. If you're not happy it will be re-done until you are - and they have (as well as my Italian indy) a QC inspection process and checks before the customer even gets a call to say the job is done. Never had to go back after fitment with TWS Chester or TWS Manchester.

And virtually no wait-list which is a bonus given I only drive my two stable-mates for 6 months a year.

There is plenty of choice today out there and many don't involve being without transport and good rigorous QC processes.
