Stop/start not operating. I find the stop/start doesn't operate a lot of the time compared to my Mercedes where it is very quick to cut in. Probably because it is an early system and less sensitive. I raised it with Porsche years ago and they said it was normal.

The other thing is that stop/start only works if you keep your foot on the brake.

I had a BMW a few years ago and it used to happen on them if the battery was low. By low I mean if it was very slightly below the parameters of being nearly new. Fast forward about 6 years and said car is still on the same battery and the stop start still doesn't work!

Basic reasons why a stop start is inactive other than an actual fault ..

The Auto Start Stop function is not available in the
following situations, for example:
- When Sport mode is activated.
- When PSM is switched off.
- During manoeuvring.
- When AC MAX mode is activated.
- When the 'Windshield defrost" function is active.
- At elevations above approx. 9850 ft (3,000 meters).
- After engaging a gear without pressing the clutch pedal
when the engine is automatically stopped.

The Auto Start Stop function is available with limited
functionality in the following situations, for example:
- If the air conditioning or passenger compartment
heating is operated at a high setting or if the defrost
function is running for long periods of time.
- If the charge state of the battery is low.
- On uphill or downhill gradients.
- When vehicle internal test processes are taking place,
for example automatic engine diagnosis.
- In the case of excessively low exterior or battery
temperature.

Low battery charge is about 80% of max charge .. in other words anything less than a very well charged battery will shut it down .

My point exactly.
