Just wondered as I'm always browsing for something different but only seems to be trade cars of late.

Perhaps the best of our cars go via pm at the suggestion we're thinking of selling(I've asked someone myself in last 24hrs and had mails when i say say the same) so I probably know why there seems to be limited private car for sale.

Is there a way to entice private cars for sale for all involved?

Hi it's me again :D

I sold my 996 using this forum.........took about 3 months...but I was in no rush and got the price I needed.
There did seem a lot more private sales at that time 2014. :dont know:

I was thinking of using it to sell the 997 but I could not get motivated to get the ball rolling and the OPC made life easy with their offer.

haha wine and I do not mix well, maybe it's trade are finally paying more and outfits like wbac are not so far off the mark anymore? Good for us all in the long run, I'm sure I used to see a lot more private cars on here. :dont know:

Part of it I think is that private buyers expect to make trade offers, to the point it isn't worth the hassle given the other route of a pain free trade sale or PX

Not sure I could be arsed to field calls from chancers, plus concerns about scammers etc.

Last 4S I sold on SOR through a respected Porsche luminary, got a very fair price after his commission and with zero hassle.

My 997 is on there - not had much contact :dont know:

Chris

I only can see 2 pages of 997 which made up of a sea of trade cars, I can't see a car for sale by 997man??

I bought my car on here. I got great comfort knowing it was an enthusiasts car and I could also see the history of it based on his comments and discussions - which complemented the paperwork I got with it.

I probably had it back in Dublin within 3 weeks of seeing the add, at which point he had it up for about 2 months.

In my experience of buying and selling, it takes about 3 months to sell a car.

I placed an add on here for my 996. I would really like it to go to someone that appreciates how much effort that has gone into making it the great car it is now.

Does seem to be a lot of traders tho......i suppose its free targeted advertising youcan't blame them

Targeted yes but it's not free to them. The specialists that advertise on here are 'site partners'.

Their payments mean we don't have to pay subs so it's a 'win-win'.

Their payments mean we don't have to pay subs yet so it's a 'win-win'.
