The usual what's it worth thread.

Thinking of maybe selling my 2008 997.1 3.8 C4S due to lack of use. Just turned 16,000 miles last weekend. Looking at maybe getting a Macan (depending on test drive) so the wife can use also, just depends on value of my car. It also has a full TecArt hydraulic nose lift, adjustable suspension alround at an additional cost of 6.5k.

Trade-in value will be the usual low ball, so maybe looking to sell to private buyer who is looking for a low mileage excellent condition car.

Thoughts on value for private sale?

List of options

Basalt Black
19" Sport Fesign Wheels
AeroKit
Auto dimming inner/outer mirrors
Black Full Leather Uphoslstery
Cruise Control
Extended Navigation Module
Fire Extinguisher
Heated Seats
Park Assist System (Rear)
PVTS
Sport Shifter
Sports Exhaust System
Sports Seats
Telephone Module For PCM
Wheel Centres With Full Colour Porsche Crest
Indoor Car Cover

Only 16,000 miles! What a shame this car hasn't been used more.

Ken is that a Gen2?

It's difficult to call based on your location.

I'd get a part-ex price vs. a Macan and add 15% as a starting price and take the first offer at part-ex +10%. With that mileage it should be very desirable.

Will see what they offer, but as usual.......sir no body what's this model, colour, spec so will off you naff all .....lol.

Great car and great spec. Looks awesome!

I expect you'll sell the car quite easily privately, because there are lots of buyers who desire low mileage, and lots who want good spec - yours has both. Lovely car.
If it was mine I'd be testing the water at £30k for a private sale.

That is a really good looking car in my opinion.

Porsche community seems to value miles over any other aspect from what I have seen, so I personally think you are on to a winner.

A quick look on autotrader there are a few 997.1 4s up for 42k with 30k on the clock. I think these are way overpriced.

On the other hand 16k miles on the clock is virtually a new car mileage wise and somebody will be willing to pay a premium I'm sure.

35k If you get the right buyer is my guess, your limiting factor is the price of 997.2s.

Glws.

I think this is going to be a very hard one to price, collectible mileage if it ever becomes a collectible car which the best of them will be, im not a fan of the gt3 look on anything but a gt3 but again it adds to the rarity.

I think will be a completely different buyer to those wanting Gen 2. I'm after a Gen 2, I've had a 997s and 997 Gt3 and personally I wouldn't think about this car at the prices mentioned as i want to use it.

All good points have been made. Have seen them sell at some specialist dealers near the 40k, so would think mid 30's might be reasonable to the right buyer. Plus it has the lift and adjustable suspension. Anyway all acidemic at the moment as not that pushed to sell only if the wife gets on with a Macan.

Ken if 997.1s are selling close to 40k then your car is in that bunch.
There can't be many cars with that sort of mileage in existence let alone for sale plus the extras you have.

I guess it is a narrow market for Aero Cars, as I have only seen a couple listed with dealers. As the old saying goes it's only worth what someone will pay.

Need a road trip planned again to Europe so I don't sell it....lol
