Omp steering wheel boss

Would it not be a simple job of running a ground wire up through the cowling?

It would be if you didn't turn your steering wheel.

Before spending any money, whip your airbag off (disconnect battery for a while first) and use a multimeter check for ground on the steering column.

Aftermarket bosses ground the horn through the column, and some early cars have a poor ground.

I never looked at how the OE wheel grounds, but that is my understanding others may know more (e.g. dammit had a lot of trouble getting his working).
I'm still somewhat baffled why this is is an issue. I've done three wheels now with the Momo boss and the horn is not an issue, even Stotty's car where his Tuna had spent (IIRC) four hours trying to make it work and failed.

If you're anywhere near Sandhurst, Berkshire, bring it over and I'll do it. I've done Stotty & knw911's cars as well as my own.

Why not pop a "how to" up SJ so people can sort it if they encounter those issues? :thumb:

I'm a little too far away. I'm in Northern Ireland but I really appreciate the offer. I'll give it a whirl before I'd be bothering anyone.
The info on here is very helpful though. Just helps with a lot of the head scratching and the wallet

Yeah that would be great! Mine works with the ignition off but not with it on which i believe its indictative of the ground fault.
