evening, investigating enabling Bluetooth on my 98 C2 which has the radio/cd/satnav and cassette (mix tapes yay!) set up ( 8 bit? )
want to keep the original becker, and not use one of those fm transmitter thingys.
research seems to narrow down to 2 options-

$139 +postage does hands free and music streaming but loses cd function and involves cutting/soldering and hole in dash hmmm

299 euros does hands free, music streaming, keeps cd function, neat installation etc but pricy
any thoughts from people in the know about these things would be appreciated

I looked at lots of options on this and decided that if money wasn't a restriction, I'd buy this

And then my folks gave me some money for Christmas, and I threw in a bit myself and bought it. Should have it next week.

There are many ways to do it, and I have done a hardwired version on a Becker in a 2004 Discovery 2, but I just decided to treat my self so I could have hands free phone and stream music.

I think the electronic idea one is more becoming of a 911...

pcm 1 bluetooth

thanks, the german one does seem more attractive, apart from the price. good if you could let me know how you get on with it when fitted.

I installed one of the Elektronic Idee ones in the PCM 1.0 in my 986 Boxster.

Does exactly what it promises and works really well (make sure you order the right version depending upon your version of PCM)

Thanks spiderlane - good to get some feedback from someone who used it

I fitted the Electronic idee Bluetooth unit and it works brilliantly. I now have phone connecting to the PCM1 seemlessly and can make and receive calls and stream music. No visible changes, no wires floating around the front of the unit. Works 99% as effectively as the system in our 2017 BMW - the only missing point being that the name of the song isn't displayed on the PCM1 screen - but I don't care.

Yes it cost €315 including shipping, but I have an OEM style solution and man maths makes it worth it.

Delighted with it. 8)

thanks , sounds exactly what i'm after!
need to save up some euros now before br******* day...
