M2 competition

Thanks guys, some good advice. So I think I will stay as I am for now and perhaps modify the M140i with an exhaust and some engine tuning as I understand the B58 will easily handle an extra 50bhp . I think I get overly worried about the future and go into a "better get that car you like " while you can mode which is stupid really because both the cars I have are bloody nice and don't owe me a thing.

Edge, a nice conclusion to the conundrum - if it were my M140i in addition to power I'd sharpen the handling. Take a look on BabyBMW, as the handling can be brought up to M standard using M3 bushing and control arms and is supposed to make a huge difference.

Good luck whatever your path!👍

Thanks Endex.

Bloody hell, some ride out there edge, good to know you are feeling better, don't get stressed with cars fella.
As you have concluded in my book.
ATB enjoy every day :thumb:

I've got a standard M2 as my daily runner and I absolutely love it .Ideal size M3/M4's are a bit big now days they are very old school /analogue feeling cars.
I had an E46 m3 for a few years and my M2 reminds me of that .

The M2 uses the M4 axles so it's the same width. It's slightly shorter, but still longer than an E46 M3. There is nothing small about the M2, it's still over 4.4m long.

It also weighs as much as the moon.

I've got a chipped M135i, flick the engine and box into sport and it's a seriously quick little car. Back end can feel lively though.

Standard M2 is about an inch shorter than an E46 M3 and slightly lighter by the looks of it.

Yep, but same weight according to Parker's (not sure if that's correct though). I think I remember reading somewhere else that the standard M2 is about 40/50kg heavier. It could be the gearbox weights that account for the difference (manual vs DCT)

Aye, it's width and height where it's bigger. I bet you don't notice the inch in length as much as you'd notice 2.8" in width.

It's the competition that is 50kg heavier than the standard M2.

No one has ever said my turbo is small:

1295 x 1829 x 4435

But it's dwarfed by the M2:

1410 x 1854 x 4461

First time I saw an M2 I was surprised how wide it was, it's huge.

I think the comp can be leased for 24 months at around £500 pm if you average the deposit and monthly costs.

Pretty sure you may lose that in year one if paying list.
