I grabbed this screenshot whilst perusing the interweb and found it interesting as I hadn't seen a diagram like this for a 996 and thought others might like to see it too. Low slung engine and gearbox.

Worth noting the top part of the engine profile on the image is mainly plastic as it's the inlet side of the engine with the outlet side all being steel and on the underside keeping the COG as low as possible, as does the engine being a flat 6 rather than a V block.
