Hi,
I'm a little worried about the ignition switch operation on my 997.2. It feels worn and doesn't always operate the starter first time.
Is it possible to change it without changing the keys?
Thanks.

Yes .. its a simple replacement .. the lock is nothing more than a lot of switches .

There is no codeing.

Im a little suprised that you feel the need to change it though .. ive done a few gen 1 cars but no gen 2 so far.

Thanks. I'm simply not sure.
I'll get it checked over at Hartech when it's serviced in the new year.

Are you sure it is not the clutch switch? much more common. Needs to be activated - ie clutch fully depressed - to engage starter.
