Can't say I'm especially encouraged by their website, but they do exist...
Repairs also have a year warranty which you are only just outside, so worth getting in touch?

First step is to follow Demorts advice and get it borescoped then you will know.

:agree:

Unfortunately the Google reviews don't suggest you'll get much help though. :nooo:

OP - best to go get the car checked out professionally and start potentially checking what options you have for recourse with the seller if it was sold by a garage.

I've yet to find the dipstick on my 997

It's probably behind the steering wheel...

My comment was a tongue in cheek reply to a previous post after I offered an opinion to the original poster.

Some right clever ***** on here until it comes to fixing 997's

I fix them :)

But the worst thing Porsche has done recently was to get rid of a dipstick due to " weight saving " and cost .. it causes no end of problems .. the newer cars have a confuseing display that has lead me to actually drain out a 3 ltr overfill in the past .. sigh .

Electronics are very good .. the display lvl is always bang on .. but understanding it isnt.

Btw .. your thread ... :thumb: .. i still cant get over what you are doing !

Well poor reviews of the garage or not, it does seem to have had a repair so as I said further up get it borescoped that way you will know for sure what your facing and go from there , as we can speculate all day but only a check will give you the answer you need. white puff of smoke on start up is not unusual. :thumb:

Sounds like the engine was rebuilt by non specialist porsche people, which would worry me, but might also be fine. They are certainly not new to rebuilding engine.

As others have said, you need a specialist to check it over and go through it. Is there such a thing in Cyprus? My Indy has just moved to somewhere which is 10 minutes from my house, and a good Indy is a godsend!

don't know the engine builder but there is a place called Anchor and Hope in South East London - there is also a pub by the same name - famous amongst motorcyclists who arrive travelling fast slam the anchors on as they arrive and hope.... :floor: It's true!
