What did you buy your 997 this week?

Picked up the car after getting an oil change, SSK and cruise control fitted and then I got to have a good look around these two beauts:

This is an awful thread. I now feel the need for a set of those Rennline pedals. Or even a set of the adjustable Rennline pedals...
I was just about to say exactly the same thing.......

Those are indeed very good. On the throttle there is an extension at top and bottom. You can keep both or only one up to your preference. I keep both on as I'm used to rolling feed (top) and heel / toe (bottom) pending on how aggressive I must break.

Is there a UK supplier for the Rennline pedals or do you have to ship them from the US?

Design 911 do rennline stuff , but note rennline are for LHD cars so everything but the dead pedal should be ok, not sure how rob overcame the dead pedal unless he just made a LHD one fit a RHD car

Treated my 997 to some time with a 3D scanner.... all about gathering data for engine swaps...

I've ordered direct from Rennline before and it worked out much cheaper that anywhere in the UK even including shipping and tax! Good service too, only took a week!

My 997 had a major service including spark plugs. No issues to speak of.

I've done 9441km and two track days this past year (a bit less than earlier years, when it was my only car). I've also done maybe 7000km and three track days in the other car.

Since it's now below zero, I need to get my winters fitted. It was a bit crap coming down from the independent on summers in sleet/snow and 0c. The car was getting pretty wriggley.

Forgot I had purchased this pedal set as it was so long ago! Anyway, it was a bit miserable weather wise so decided to take the opportunity to fit them today.

Next up will be tackling the connection of an interior exhaust switch for my Top Gear system. With DucatiRob's help with the relay and instructions I'm hopeful I'll get it working.........despite being the worse DIYer I know!! :D

Good work- Which BT module did you go? Was it easy to fit? Any specific tools required? Any downsides?

It is a MR12VOLT/LA POWER system, i.e the £118 one on Ebay/Amazon.

Seems to be a reverse engineered Dension.

You need the 7mm spanner, 5mm allen key and torx to remove the PCM but otherwise...not really!

It is definitely fiddly, as you need to find a suitable power/ground connection. Do a google search for "rennlist LA POWER", you will find a massive thread there with lots of info.

I'm going to do a reply to this thread at the end of December entitled What did you buy your 997 this year. It has been an expensive year and there are still six weeks to go! However, today's big treat is a gundo hack by Paul at PCW Exhaust Mods. For a very reasonable sum the car now sounds like it should and very similar to my neighbour's Gen2 with PSE. Why would anyone want a Tesla when a car sounds this good? If anyone is thinking of having this done and is in the MK/Northampton area let me know and you can see and hear what you're missing! Rusty bolts all replaced too! :mechanic: :D
