Im not exactly sure on how to get the preview of the video to show up on screen but I recently got together with a member on here KP964 to create a video on his 964 C4 as shown in this link

Seemed appropriate to add to this thread.

Interesting video especially the ending where he refers to backdating. It seems the whole market wants to butcher 964's - See the tide will eventually turn to restoring them as 964 and not anything earlier...

Thoughts?

There does seem to be a lot of backdates around now, the 964 was the last of the original 911 torpedo wing shaped cars and therefore the most advanced of that original shape, the last and best old school 911 IMO!, i agree that its ok to mod them with subtle upgrades to engine suspension and brakes but to destroy the original car is a shame.

Could not agree more with you Keith.

Seeing that bare shell on the sled confirms to me that the 964 is the quintessential "old school" 911. I know, I know, I'm biased, but the lines, those wings, the sweep of the rear, all scream 911.

Cheers, Mark

p.s. roll on the jab/spring/summer when we can all once again have a run out

The "Growler":

Interesting name.

I like his other car mind. The 'Bearded Clam".

Hi Marky , how you doing , thats what my wife calls me  "The growler" not the Bearded clam  seen this video a few times, it actually inspired me to get my deep dish Momo steering wheel, hope all is well , long time no see :thumb:

Hi Keith.
All good here. Thanks for asking. Well aside from this obvious Covid malarkey. :nooo:

I hope you and yours are all good. I watched your vid with Satch the other day actually. Canny.
That car has served you well eh.
Brilliant purchase. It still looks ace. 8) Oh and +1 for the Momo wheel. Great mod in any 911.

I'm surprised you haven't branched out into YouTube mind. I'd have thought you'd excel at it, when combined with your artistic talents. I haven't got the face or the voice for it.

Anyway, good to see you posting and good to see a piece on your car. I'm sure I'll bump into you at some point, especially if any north east runs happen. I'll try and get along. :thumb:

Island Works Sweden / 964 race build

So if you chaps like 964 builds, you could do a lot worse than watch Jonas from Island Works Sweden on his YouTube channel. I don't have a 964 but I find some of this stuff just fascinating.

And by the way, I've driven Knutstorp in southern Sweden and it is a smallish, but nice technical little track with just the right blend of fear and fun.

Chris Harris on a very special 964 Turbo

Stumbled over this (unicorn) from Chris Harris:

Sultan of Brunei and Jenson Button, not surprising that it went for a huge sum:

https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/1994-porsche-911-964-turbo-3-6-x88

Curiously, for those of us in the North East, the photos from Collecting Cars indicates that its been serviced by Tom Ferguson. Seems a bit odd, pretty sure nether Jenson or the Sultan live in the North East!
